Products + Size
All leashes and collars (except for the sustainable options and the Bonkers Bill) are made of PPM cord. This is made of multifilament fibre often used on horse halters or dog products. It does not absorb water, which keeps the PPM rope floating on water. PPM cord is very maintenance-friendly: it stays clean, dries easily and is very resistant to weather conditions, making it an excellent material for dogs leashes and collars. It is lightweight and has a shiny and smooth surface. PPM cord is tested to be safe for human and animal!
For the finishing touch we use Paracord products, brass or RVT accessories and leather (for the luxury lines and collars). All materials are dog friendly.
SIZES
The thickness of the products varies, depending on the size of the dog. Most used are the 10mm cords. These are suitable for any dog weighing more than 5 kilograms. For the really big dogs (>45kg) 12mm is recommended. For small dogs we sometimes use thinner cords (6-8mm) with smaller rings and snap hooks. Be aware that thinner cords are lighter, also in handling.
Leather products also vary in thickness. They go from 15mm to 20mm. In terms of strength, size does not matter. It is all a matter of taste. We do recommend wider collars for dogs with a lot of scruff so they are more visible.
POOP BAG HOLDERS
The Butt Burrito and the Royal Squat bags are made out of vegetable tanned cowhide.
The process of vegetable tanning uses organic material and natural tannins derived from the barks, leaves and branches of trees and plants. This results in colors that are rich and deep in natural earthy tones such as browns, beiges, yellows and reds. The fibers of the animal hide used for the leather are visible in the finished product, lending an authenticity and personality to the leather that makes it more unique.
It is more sustainable, of a higher quality and gets better with age. It provides great value for money due to its durability. It is also a fashion classic that never goes out of style.
The Holy Shit and the Golden Drop are made out of normal supple cowhide which is very high-quality as well but is tanned with products less eco-friendly. The big external difference between the two kinds of leather is that in vegetable tanned leather the print of the animal skin is maintained making it more robust. It has a rougher touch in comparison to the normally tanned leather which has a very smooth feel and rarely contains any unevenness.
